Siblings & A Big Bed

I know, I know- it’s only been a week since the last post & here I am again.  I’d like to say that’s just the way I do things, but don’t get used to it.  I just wanted to share some cute pictures of the kiddos.  Addison asked to hold Kate for the first time the other day & we got some cute pics of all 3.

Austin has been climbing in and out of his crib for a while now, but never when he was supposed to be sleeping (why was beyond me, but I gladly accepted it!)  That is, until last week.  After 2 nights of him climbing out & sleeping in the chair in his room, we decided he was ready for a big bed.  Every time we talked about his new bed, he’d say, “No, I don’t want a new bed!”  So when he greeted his new bed with excitement and endless smiles, I was relieved.  It’s been 4 or 5 days, and he’s still pretty excited about it.  Every day he says, “I’m going to sleep in my big bed tonight!”

2 Months, New Cousins & Old Traditions

Kate is now 2 months old!  She’s smiling & trying to talk to us.  She’s starting to sleep a little better at night, but still giving us a run for our money at times.

A few weeks ago, we got to meet her new cousin, Caroline, who was born just 6 weeks after her.  She is precious, & we’re wishing she & her parents lived closer.  We’re pretty sure she & Kate going to be best friends.  Addison & Austin were quite enamored with her, too.

We also got to see Wes’s family that weekend.  Here’s someone else who is fond of his new cousin.

This weekend was the Garden Party, & we continued our annual tradition of dressing up, wearing things on our heads we wouldn’t usually wear, and supporting The Little Light House.  It was a quick weekend, but lots of fun nonetheless.

Still Standing

Well, we've made it through our first month as parents of 3, and we're no worse for the wear. Overall, the transition has been much smoother than expected. It is a little crazy at times, but nothing we can't laugh at and remind ourselves this phase is only temporary. Soon we'll be on to other phases that we're reminding ourselves are also only temporary. The big kids (funny to call my 2- & 4-year-old big kids) have done amazing and are such good siblings to their little sister. Here is Kate's one month picture with the bear and a few of my favorite photos from the last couple of weeks.

Catching Up- Once Again

I’ve recently been gently scolded by a few family members that for not updating the blog. I apologize. So here we go:

This one is a picture I found after I updated the blog last time of Austin "helping" Granddaddy repair a leaky faucet. I just love how he's right there in the middle of things- so into it!
Okay, on to our update. We had a great Christmas at home with just the 4 of us:

Then we went to Texas to celebrate with our families.

Because of some generous babysitting services from Grans & Granddaddy, Wes and I were able to watch the Baylor Bears win a bowl game (after also winning the Heisman, for those of you who are counting).

We celebrated New Year’s with explosives. Is there any other way?

After all this time in the car with 2 toddlers, we decided we hadn’t had enough, so we went to Dallas for a baby shower for our niece & got to spend the night with my aunt, uncle & cousin.
And now we’re home for the long haul, trying to prepare as much as we can for life with 3 kids!
